Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features from both the table and the pie charts. The overall trends are successfully identified, such as the increase in visitor numbers from 74,000 to 92,000 and the general shift toward higher satisfaction levels after the refurbishment. However, some areas are slightly under-developed or lack precise comparison. For instance, while the data for satisfaction categories is listed, the commentary could be extended to more fully contrast the specific shifts between the two periods, such as the significant drop in those reporting dissatisfaction. Nevertheless, an adequate overview is provided and the core requirements of the task are met.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure separating the introduction, overview, table data, and survey results. Paragraphing is used appropriately to group related ideas. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'To begin with' and 'Furthermore' are used to link paragraphs, but internal referencing and logical progression within the body paragraphs can feel disjointed. For example, sentences detailing survey percentages follow one another without smooth cohesive links or advanced connectors, making the flow somewhat repetitive. Pronoun referencing and substitution could also be handled more flexibly to elevate the structural flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying basic numbers and survey categories. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items and phrases related to data reporting, such as 'refurbished' and 'satisfaction'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'demostrate' instead of 'demonstrate', 'dissatsfied', and 'reponse' instead of 'response'. Additionally, phrasing such as 'visitors are visit' shows awkward word choice and collocation issues. These errors occur throughout the text, though they do not seriously impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over basic sentence structures. However, there is a limited range of grammatical structures used accurately, and frequent errors persist in verb forms, tense consistency, and prepositions. Examples include 'the figure of visitors', 'when they were visit, during after and before', and 'there are 74000 number of visitors are visit'. These errors in subject-verb agreement, auxiliary verbs, and relative clauses reveal a lack of firm control over complex patterns. Punctuation is generally basic, but the grammatical errors occasionally cause slight difficulty for the reader.
