Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by presenting both the visitor numbers from the table and the satisfaction survey results from the charts. An appropriate overview is provided, noting the contrast in visitor numbers and satisfaction levels between the two periods. However, some parts are addressed more fully than others; for instance, the details regarding the satisfaction categories lack complete extension, and some figures are simply listed rather than fully integrated into meaningful comparisons. To move higher, the response should provide a more thorough and developed selection of key features without relying on repetitive listing of data percentages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the information into an introduction, an overview, and separate body paragraphs for the table and charts. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and referencing is occasionally faulty, such as the awkward transitions "To begin with" and "Furthermore". Paragraphing is used, but the logical progression between ideas could be smoother. To achieve a higher level, the writer needs to employ cohesive devices more flexibly and ensure that sentences flow naturally into one another without abrupt shifts in focus.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying basic numbers and survey categories. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as "refurbished" and "satisfaction", but this is accompanied by noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, form, and spelling, such as "dissatsfied" instead of "dissatisfied", and "reponse" instead of "response". Additionally, phrasing like "visitors are visit" demonstrates issues with lexical collocations and word forms. To improve, the student must expand their range of vocabulary and pay closer attention to correct spelling and word formation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ("The table demonstrate", "results of surveys shows"), tense errors ("when they were visit"), and missing articles or prepositions. For example, writing "there are 74000 number of visitors are visit" creates an ungrammatical structure. These errors require some effort from the reader to decode, placing the grammar firmly in the lower range. To progress, the student must focus on foundational grammar rules, verb forms, and accurate sentence construction.
