Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features from both the table and the pie charts. The overall trends are identified, noting the increase in visitor numbers from 74,000 to 92,000 after refurbishment and the general shift toward higher satisfaction levels, such as 'very satisfied' rising from 15 percent to 35 percent. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or mechanically listed rather than fully integrated into a cohesive analytical narrative. The selection of data is generally accurate, meeting the requirements of a solid performance at this level while showing glimpses of fully extended supporting detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear division into paragraphs, including a proper introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs detailing the specific data points. Transitional phrases like 'To begin with', 'Meanwhile', and 'Furthermore' are used to structure the response, though referencing and cohesive devices occasionally feel somewhat mechanical or repetitive. The logical progression is generally maintained throughout the writing, allowing the reader to follow the comparison between the two time periods, though more sophisticated referencing and smoother transitions would elevate the organizational quality further.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying basic statistical information such as 'visitors', 'museum', 'percent', and 'survey'. There are notable attempts to use less common vocabulary like 'refurbished' and 'satisfaction', but these are accompanied by lexical inaccuracies and word choice errors, such as 'do not response' instead of 'no response' and awkward phrasing like 'visitors are visit'. Spelling and word choice errors are present, but they do not seriously impede communication, reflecting a typical performance that covers the basic lexical requirements while showing minor lapses in precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response employs a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'While results of surveys shows visitor are satisfied after the refurbishment.' There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement, for instance 'there are 74,000 number of visitors are visit' and 'results of surveys shows'. Punctuation and articles also require better control. While these grammatical errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited command of complex structures, communication of the main data points is still achieved.
