Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses the main parts of the task by reporting the overall visitor numbers and summarizing the key satisfaction survey results for both periods. The selection of data is generally relevant, noting the increase from 74,000 to 92,000 visitors, and outlining the shifts in satisfaction categories such as the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35%. However, some ideas are underdeveloped or repetitive, and there is inappropriate personal interpretation included in the text, such as stating 'This describes the importance of refurbishment' and 'after making it more beautiful and clean'. To reach a higher level, the response should avoid personal commentary and extend the data comparisons more objectively and thoroughly across all categories.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The text presents a coherent overall arrangement of information, moving from visitor numbers to survey results, but the organization is hampered by a lack of proper paragraphing and mechanical transitions. The entire response is written as a single block of text rather than being divided into logical paragraphs for the table data and the survey charts. Furthermore, cohesive devices are sometimes faulty or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'after the refurbishment of the museum' and 'respectively', and referencing is not always clear. To improve, the writer needs to group related ideas into distinct paragraphs and use a wider variety of cohesive markers to manage the flow of information smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate basic data points such as percentages and visitor counts. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, spelling, and collocation. For example, 'refurbished' is used incorrectly as a noun ('before and after the refurbished of the museum'), 'distaisfied' contains a spelling error, and phrases like 'no response behaviour' are unnatural. To achieve a higher band, the student should expand their lexical range to include more precise terms for describing statistical changes and ensure correct word forms and spelling throughout.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are several errors in article usage, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'number of visitors increased' missing an article, 'in two different time' instead of times, and awkward phrasing like 'The visitors increased in a significant number signs towards'. Punctuation is also weak, particularly the run-on nature of sentences detailing the survey percentages. To reach a higher band, the writer must reduce grammatical errors and demonstrate better control over complex sentence structures and punctuation.
