Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features of visitor numbers and survey satisfaction results for both periods. The key data points, such as the increase in total visitors from 74,000 to 92,000 and the shifts in satisfaction levels, are correctly identified and compared. The overview is present and highlights the main trajectory of the data, bridging the gap towards a higher band. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed, particularly in the detailed breakdown of the survey results where certain descriptions lack deeper contextual comparison. Despite this, the response provides a clear general picture that satisfies the core requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical structure divided into appropriate paragraphs, moving from an introduction and overview to specific details about visitor numbers and survey results. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Overall', 'Contrary', and 'Moreover', though referencing and transitions can occasionally feel mechanical or slightly awkward, as seen in the phrasing connecting the paragraphs. Paragraphing is utilized sufficiently to separate distinct visual elements of the prompt, ensuring the reader can follow the progression of information, even if internal sentence linking occasionally lacks fluency.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, successfully conveying the basic trends and figures. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary items, such as 'upward marked trajectory', 'bottoming down', and 'refurbished', which demonstrate an ambition to use a wider range. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and word formation, such as 'amount of people visited' instead of 'number of people who visited', 'delineats' instead of 'delineates', and 'satisfication' instead of 'satisfaction'. These lexical slips do not impede communication, but they restrict the score to an adequate level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response employs a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to vary grammatical structures. There are several grammatical errors present, such as missing relative pronouns ('people visited' instead of 'people who visited'), awkward phrasing ('how satisfied they were'), and minor prepositional or article inaccuracies. However, these errors are relatively infrequent and rarely impede communication, allowing the reader to grasp the intended meaning without confusion. The control over punctuation and basic verb tenses is generally sufficient for the task.
