Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features of both the table and the charts. The writer successfully highlights the key data points, such as the increase in visitor numbers from 74,000 to 92,000 and the general shift in satisfaction levels, noting that dissatisfied responses dropped while very satisfied responses rose. However, some ideas and comparisons remain slightly under-developed or imprecise, such as referring to percentages or proportions vaguely without fully clarifying the specific breakdown of categories. Overall, the selection of information is relevant and covers the main trends, placing it comfortably at this level.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The text exhibits a coherent overall arrangement with a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs, and an overall summary. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. Referencing and transitional phrases are occasionally awkward, such as starting paragraphs with 'At below' or 'After refurbishment of primises', which disrupts the natural flow of information. Paragraphing is attempted, but logical progression between sentences within paragraphs lacks smoothness, creating a slightly disjointed reading experience that prevents the response from achieving a higher band.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The writer uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'refurbishment', 'enhancement', and 'perspective'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'priveously', 'tourirest', 'satisfecory', 'experiance', 'setifection', 'dissatisfection', 'respectivly', 'primises', 'quntity', 'decressed', and 'markable'. These errors are frequent enough to cause some strain for the reader, although communication of the main data points is generally maintained.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating an attempt to vary sentence structures. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as article omissions ('the information is shared with two type data blocks'), subject-verb agreement issues ('The people who have not responded... has'), and prepositional or structural awkwardness ('refurbishment has lead a markable lift'). While these errors do not completely obscure the intended meaning, they occur regularly and restrict the control of complex structures, keeping the grammar score at this level.
