Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by presenting an overview and covering both the table data regarding visitor numbers and the pie chart data regarding satisfaction levels. Key features are accurately reported and compared, such as the rise in visitors from 74,000 to 92,000 and the shift in positive satisfaction from 45% to 75%. The selection of data is generally appropriate, though there is a slight tendency to over-generalise or recount figures sequentially rather than fully integrating every comparative nuance into a cohesive narrative. To reach the next level, the response would need to ensure all main trends and proportions are fully extended and analysed with even greater precision.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response maintains a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the information into logical paragraphs, separating the table data from the survey findings. However, referencing and cohesion can sometimes feel mechanical or slightly disjointed, as seen in transitions like 'Below, in the results of surveys' or the repetitive use of overarching summaries at the beginning and end. Paragraphing is present, but grouping ideas could be smoother to establish a more seamless progression throughout the text. To improve further, the writer should employ a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices to link sentences and paragraphs naturally without drawing attention to their use.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items and descriptive phrases such as 'refurbishment', 'combined satisfactory level', and 'highly satisfied'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors in word choice, word form, and spelling, such as 'refubrishment', 'experiance', 'quntity', 'decressed', and 'satifactory'. These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight limitations in control and accuracy when attempting more sophisticated vocabulary. To achieve a higher band, the writer must expand their working vocabulary and eliminate basic spelling and word-formation mistakes through careful proofreading.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly involving subject-verb agreement ('the amount of visitors have remarkable rose', 'the total number of visitors were'), article usage ('the pie chart illustrate'), and prepositional phrases. While the meaning remains mostly clear despite these slips, the persistence of basic grammatical inaccuracies prevents the text from achieving a higher level of structural control. To progress, the writer needs to focus on tightening sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and maintaining agreement between subjects and verbs.
