Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response successfully addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features of both the table and the satisfaction survey charts. You have selected key data points, such as the overall visitor numbers rising from 74,000 to 92,000, and accurately contrasted satisfaction levels before and after refurbishment. An overview is present in the second paragraph, capturing the general positive shift in visitor feedback and increased attendance. However, some ideas tend to over-generalise or lack further extension; for instance, the detail regarding respondents who gave no feedback remaining static at 5% is mentioned, but the relationships between categories could be developed a bit more cohesively. Overall, the content fully meets the criteria for this band by covering all visual components with relevant data selection.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
Your writing displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the information logically into an introduction, overview, and body paragraphs focusing on survey results and visitor counts respectively. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Phrases like 'both presents for by before and after renovation' and referencing errors such as 'their ratio 5% remained same' disrupt the smooth progression of ideas. Transitional phrases are employed, but referencing and substitution are occasionally clumsy. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the introduction, overview, and detailed findings, which helps maintain a readable structure throughout the response, securing a solid performance for this level.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'refurbishment', 'modernization', and 'dissatisfaction'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation inaccuracies, such as 'visitor's feedback' instead of 'visitors' feedback', 'upgradation' instead of 'upgrade' or 'upgrading', and 'ratio of proponent' when referring to survey respondents. Additionally, phrasing like 'very dissatisfaction also reduced' exhibits word formation errors. These lexical slips and awkward collocations do not heavily impede communication, but they restrict your score because they reveal limited precision and control over less common lexical items.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over structure. You attempt complex clauses, such as 'while the table presents...' and 'whereas, individuals who didn’t give any feedback...'. Nevertheless, there are frequent grammatical errors involving prepositions, articles, and sentence construction. For example, 'both presents for by before and after renovation' contains tangled prepositional phrases, and punctuation is occasionally misused, such as the unnecessary comma before 'while' and after 'visitors'. Errors in relative clauses and subject-verb alignment also occur, though they rarely impede overall communication. Improving grammatical precision and reducing structural errors will help elevate your grammar score.
