Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially, presenting some key features of the table and charts while missing others, and contains inaccuracies in reporting the data. For instance, the student states that '40 percent visitor are dissatisfied which is hightest than other any group during the years before reburbishment', which correctly identifies the 40% dissatisfaction figure, but misinterprets parts of the survey breakdown. Furthermore, the overview is somewhat confused, and the selection of features lacks sufficient extension. To reach a higher level, the response would need to provide a clearer overall trend and systematically cover all major data points from both the table and the charts with greater accuracy and full development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation evident in the writing, and the response is divided into paragraphs, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used mechanically and sometimes inaccurately, as seen in phrases like 'whereas first pie chart compares' and 'following this'. Referencing between sentences is often unclear, such as 'among them 40 percent visitor are dissatisfied'. To improve, the writer needs to ensure that information flows logically from one point to the next, using a wider and more accurate range of cohesive devices to link the table data and the two pie charts smoothly without repetitive structures.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'satifaction', 'giives', 'museus', 'reburbishment', 'refurbeshment', 'percetage', 'represnt', 'hightest', 'unsatisfie', 'seond', 'positing', and 'dissactified'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary related to the prompt, but the frequent lexical errors restrict the response. To progress, the writer must expand their vocabulary range and improve spelling accuracy and collocation control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a limited range of structures, relying heavily on simple or awkwardly constructed complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('40 percent visitor are', 'visitor are satisfied'), missing articles ('in first pie chart'), and faulty prepositional use or clause structuring (e.g., 'compares the visitor as their satifaction level'). These errors cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to produce a greater variety of error-free sentences, demonstrating better control over basic grammar, plurals, and article usage.
