Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response makes a partial attempt to address the task by reporting some of the main figures from the table and charts, such as the visitor numbers (74,000 and 92,000) and the satisfaction percentages for both periods. However, the communication falls short due to the word count dropping below the mandatory 150-word minimum, standing at 149 words. Furthermore, the overview is incomplete and weak, merely stating that the chart shows surveys without summarising the broader trends. Key features are partially covered, but the information is sometimes mechanically listed rather than effectively selected and compared.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has some organisation, using basic sequencing words like 'First of all', 'Consequently', and 'Similarlay' to structure the text. However, there is no clear overall progression, and the paragraphing is somewhat disjointed with awkward spacing. Cohesive devices are frequently repetitive, inaccurate, or used mechanically ('For adding'), which disrupts the logical flow between ideas. Referencing between sentences is also occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of data comparisons smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is limited and minimally adequate for the task, relying on basic terms such as 'number of tourists', 'satisfied', and 'disappointed'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation, such as 'feom' for 'from', 'aboput' for 'about', and awkward phrasing like 'the year after renovated the Museum' instead of 'the year after the museum was renovated'. These lexical inaccuracies and typos cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted vocabulary control typical of this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent errors that cause difficulty for the reader. Attempts at complex sentences or passive constructions are often faulty, as seen in phrases like 'before renovated thr museum most of the tourists are dissatisfied' and 'after renovated the museum the highest number of visitors are satisfied'. There are also persistent issues with verb forms, tenses, prepositions, and agreement throughout the response. Punctuation is basic and occasionally intrusive, further hindering readability.
