Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by reporting the main features of both the table and the pie charts. An overview is provided, noting the general trends in visitor numbers and satisfaction levels. However, some ideas are under-developed or inaccurately detailed; for instance, the writer states that "approximately 20% less recorded before it" when comparing the very satisfied categories (35% versus 15%), and minor details such as the exact breakdown of dissatisfaction are slightly generalised. Key figures like 74,000 and 92,000 visitors are correctly identified from the table, satisfying the requirements for a satisfactory task coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a discernible introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. Paragraphing is used to separate the table data from the survey charts. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. Phrases like "To fleeting glance with" and "Moving ahead" are awkward transitions that do not fit standard academic academic cohesive devices. Referencing and progression are occasionally disrupted by unnatural phrasing, though the general flow remains understandable throughout the response.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, but lexical resource is restricted by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and form. Examples include "satisfiction", "rennovation", "art gallery" (referring to a museum), "alternations", and "pupills". These errors do not completely impede communication, but they reflect a limited and strained range. The writer attempts less common vocabulary such as "proportion" and "refurbishment", but frequent inaccuracies prevent the lexical score from reaching a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over sentence structure. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Issues include awkward passive and active voice integration ("maximum people were dissatisfied", "highest number of people were went there"), missing articles ("to museum"), and preposition misuse. While these errors rarely completely obscure the meaning, they cause difficulty for the reader and prevent the grammar from meeting the standards of more advanced bands.
