Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You report several key figures accurately, including the rise in visitors from 74,000 to 92,000 and the main satisfaction percentages. You also identify the broad shift from dissatisfaction before refurbishment to greater satisfaction afterwards. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: dissatisfied visitors were the largest group before refurbishment, but satisfied visitors were the largest group afterwards, not simply “largest part of chart” without a clear comparison. Some details are confused, such as saying very dissatisfied and satisfied were 15% and 10% before refurbishment; these figures are reversed. The response therefore covers the task only partially, with limited and under-developed comparisons. State the overall trends clearly, then report the figures in a precise, organised way.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate descriptions of the two periods. This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, progression is not consistently clear, and several sentences combine ideas awkwardly. For example, the overview joins the visitor increase and satisfaction patterns in a confusing way, while “In the year before refurbishment” and “In the after refurbishment” create a repetitive, list-like sequence. Linking words such as “however” and “whereas” are attempted, but their relationships are not always clear. Group the figures by meaningful comparisons—for example, the visitor total and the shift in satisfaction—and use concise transitions to show how the two years differ.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitors,” “satisfied,” and “dissatisfied,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the report difficult to read, such as “significant rapid increased their visitors number,” “largest portion by dissatisfied,” and “contained smallest portion.” There are also spelling errors, including “responed,” “dissatisified,” and “visitores,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for standard chart-reporting expressions such as “the number of visitors rose,” “accounted for the largest share,” and “no response.” Check spelling and use precise terms consistently for each satisfaction category.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including an overview beginning “Overall it can be seen that” and comparisons using “whereas.” However, sentence structures are often faulty, and errors can make relationships between figures unclear. For instance, “significant rapid increased their visitors number” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase, while “In the after refurbishment” has an incorrect prepositional construction. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “40 % of visitors have mentioned highest satisfied.” Use straightforward past-tense reporting structures, such as “Visitor numbers increased” and “The largest group was satisfied,” and check each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
