Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the main subject and report several relevant figures: visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000, dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, and satisfaction increased. However, the response is incomplete and does not provide a clear overview of the overall survey shift; it also omits the very dissatisfied and no-response categories. Some wording misrepresents the data, such as calling 92,000 “92,000 thousands,” and “during the year after refurbishment” is not clearly compared with the earlier period. The final sentence is unfinished (“In my opini…”), leaving the summary incomplete. The response is also below the required 150 words, with 132 words counted; the eight words copied from the prompt were excluded. Add a concise overview and complete, accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic sequence from the table to the survey results, and the response uses a few linking expressions such as “before refurbishment,” “after refurbishment,” and “as compared to.” However, the information is largely presented as one long, crowded passage rather than in clearly organised paragraphs, so the reader has difficulty distinguishing the overview from supporting details. Repeated references to “the year” and “refurbishment” do not create a clear progression, and the unfinished ending interrupts the response. Organise the answer into an introduction, an overview, and one or two detail paragraphs. Group the visitor totals together, then compare the satisfaction categories, using clear links such as “By contrast” and “Meanwhile.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “visitors,” “surveys,” “dissatisfied,” and “refurbishment,” and the key topic is generally recognisable. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive. “Travellers” and “their travel” do not fit a museum visit; use “visitors” and “visit.” “How comfortable they were” changes the survey’s meaning, which concerns satisfaction. Phrases such as “the year first,” “was low,” “is minimum,” and “is the biggest amount” are unnatural or imprecise, while “92,000 thousands” gives an incorrect expression of the figure. Choose standard chart-reporting language, for example “the year before refurbishment,” “increased to,” and “the largest proportion.” This would make the comparisons clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect several comparisons in longer sentences, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “during the year first and the year after it was low” has an unclear structure, while “In the results of total number … during the year before refurbishmentis minimum” lacks appropriate articles and a clear verb construction. The sentence beginning “In results of surveys” also shifts between fragments and clauses, and the final “In my opini” is incomplete. Most sentences rely on basic patterns, with little accurate variety. Practise forming complete comparative sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “Visitor numbers increased from 74,000 to 92,000,” and check articles, tense, agreement, and punctuation.
