Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main overall changes accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, and satisfaction improved after refurbishment. Most survey figures are reported correctly, including the rise in satisfied visitors from 30% to 40% and the fall in dissatisfied visitors from 40% to 15%. However, “went up from 15% to a 35% increase” is unclear: the figure rose to 35%, rather than increasing by 35%. The overview could also be more precise by noting that the two positive categories together became the majority, while dissatisfaction fell substantially. The response is 146 words, below the 150-word minimum; the 10 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Add a little more relevant comparison and clarify the figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph reporting the figures. The progression from visitor totals to satisfaction categories is easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Overall,” “while,” and “after” help connect comparisons. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, because several sentences repeat “percentage” or “visitors” without varying the reference. The final sentence also combines the decline in dissatisfaction with the unchanged no-response figure, making the comparison slightly crowded. A more deliberate grouping—positive responses together, then negative responses and no response—would make the information easier to scan. Use clearer references such as “this share” where appropriate, while keeping each comparison explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a suitable range of task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “survey results,” “satisfied,” and “decline,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, several spelling errors, including “visting,” “illsutrate,” and “peroids,” which reduce accuracy. Some expressions are also awkward or imprecise: “a 35% increase” does not clearly express the final share, and “very dissatisfaction percentage” is not a natural phrase. “Increasing number of visitors” also needs a more natural formulation. These issues do not prevent understanding, but more accurate word forms, collocations, and spelling would make the report more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the overview sentence joined with “and” and comparisons linked by “while.” Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors are present. For example, “has experienced increasing number of visitors” needs an article or a different construction, and “Satisfied visitors percentage have also increased” has awkward noun order and subject–verb agreement. In “went up from 15% to a 35% increase,” the structure also makes the comparison difficult to interpret. Aim to make the subject and verb agree and use clear comparative patterns, such as “the proportion of very satisfied visitors rose from 15% to 35%.” This would improve accuracy while retaining your sentence variety.
