Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the two periods and report several relevant figures, including the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35%, the unchanged 5% giving no response, and the visitor totals of 74,000 and 92,000. However, the response is incomplete: it does not provide a clear overview of the main changes, and the final sentence trails off before making a comparison. The 40% dissatisfied figure before refurbishment is mentioned, but the important fall to 15% afterwards is not clearly reported. Some wording also makes the data difficult to interpret. The response is 123 words, below the required 150, which limits how fully the key features can be selected and explained. Develop a concise overview and compare the satisfaction categories across both years.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response by referring first to the earlier period and then to the year after refurbishment. This gives the reader some sense of the time sequence, and phrases such as “in both the pie charts” attempt to connect related information. However, ideas are not arranged into clear, complete paragraphs, and several sentences are difficult to follow because information is crowded together or left unfinished. For example, “the rate dissatisfed caller suddenly down” does not clearly state the comparison, while the final phrase, “the number of gustes in both stages,” has no completed point. Use a clear introduction, an overview, and two organised comparison paragraphs, with linking phrases that show contrast and change.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the task, including “refurbishment,” “percentage,” “dissatisfied,” and “survey,” so the topic is recognisable. However, the range is basic and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make the report harder to understand. Examples include “satisfication,” “visiror,” “gustes,” and “musesum”; “repairing” and “cleanig” are also not appropriate descriptions of the refurbishment in this context. Some phrases, such as “satisfied attendance,” do not naturally describe survey responses. Aim for accurate, conventional chart language such as “the proportion of visitors who were satisfied” and “visitor numbers increased.” Proofread spelling and choose words that describe survey categories precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to compare the two periods using time expressions such as “before refurbishment,” “later than year,” and “throughout following the year.” However, sentence structures are very limited, and frequent problems with sentence boundaries, articles, agreement, and verb forms make several statements difficult to interpret. For instance, “During the period before refurbishment and after refurbishment” is a fragment, while “very satisfied peoples are only 15%” does not form a clear grammatical comparison. The clause “there repairing the musesum” also lacks a clear subject and correctly formed verb phrase. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example: “The proportion of very satisfied visitors rose from 15% to 35% after refurbishment.”
