Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and the figures you report match the data: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15% and satisfaction increased. The main contrast between the two survey periods is clear, and you include the unchanged 5% with no response. However, the overview is not stated clearly at the beginning; the final paragraph mentions attendance growth but does not summarise the broad shift from mostly dissatisfied visitors to mostly satisfied ones. Some details are also unclear, such as “more people not interested,” which misinterprets the no-response category. A concise overview highlighting the two main trends would make the response more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about the first survey, one about the second, and a final comparison of visitor numbers. This gives the information an overall coherent arrangement. You also use basic links such as “however,” “During the year after refurbishment,” and “overall” to signal contrasts and sequence. At times, though, the progression is weakened by unclear or mechanical connections. For example, “the process ends” does not clearly introduce the post-refurbishment results, and the final paragraph shifts back to attendance without linking that increase to the survey changes. Use a clear overview before the details, then group comparable satisfaction categories and connect the attendance figures to the main trends.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” “satisfied,” “proportion,” and “visitors,” so the reader can identify the subject and most categories. However, the range and control are limited, with repeated wording such as “people” and “number,” and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions. “People not interested in this museum” does not accurately describe visitors who gave no response, while “the process ends” is unsuitable for describing survey results. Spelling errors such as “respone” and “intersted” also reduce precision. Aim for concise reporting language and accurate category labels—for example, “the share of visitors who were dissatisfied” and “those who gave no response”—rather than repeating general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the reader can generally understand the main figures. Some sentence forms are nevertheless inaccurate, particularly with articles, agreement, and verb patterns. For example, “this diagrams also shows” has a mismatch between the demonstrative, noun, and verb, while “people very satisfied and satisfied number with 35% and 40%” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Tense and phrasing are also inconsistent in “people opinion almost change.” Punctuation and capitalisation need attention, including the lower-case sentence openings and spaces before full stops. Build reliable sentences such as “The proportion who were satisfied rose to 40%” before attempting longer comparisons, and check subject–verb agreement and articles.
