Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main contrast in satisfaction: dissatisfaction was highest before refurbishment, while satisfied responses became more common afterwards. Several figures are accurately reported, including very satisfied visitors rising from 15% to 35%, and dissatisfied visitors falling from 40% to 15%. However, the overview is unclear and does not report the important increase in total visitors, from 74,000 to 92,000. The statement that there is a “slightly increase in percentage of satisfied visitors” is also imprecise, since the combined satisfied categories rise substantially, from 45% to 75%. To make the summary more complete, give a clear overview of both visitor numbers and satisfaction, then select the key comparisons accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about satisfaction categories. This helps the reader follow the general topic. However, progression is weakened because the total visitor figures are never discussed, and the body mainly lists categories in sequence rather than grouping the main changes. Some linking is repetitive or awkward: “Similarly” appears for separate comparisons, while “After that” does not clearly show a meaningful relationship between the data. The overview also repeats the idea of increased satisfaction. Organise the details into clearer groups—for example, increases in positive responses and decreases in negative responses—and use concise links that show those contrasts.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” “increased,” and “decreased,” so the reader can understand the broad comparisons. However, spelling errors and imprecise expressions are noticeable, such as “mojority,” “vistors,” “responce,” and “safisfaction.” Some word combinations are unnatural: “visitor satisfactions” and “over the same framerates” do not accurately express the intended meaning. Repetition of “number of visitors” also limits variety. Use standard chart language such as “proportion of respondents,” “survey results,” and “the year before/after refurbishment,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the comparisons clearer and more appropriate to an academic report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “while” and comparisons using “from … to …”. However, errors in sentence construction and agreement recur. For example, “the numbers … remains the same” should use a plural verb, and “there is slightly increase” needs an article and a different adjective form. The phrase “which is almost the double” is also not grammatically well formed. Several sentences run together or contain awkward punctuation, particularly the long sentence beginning “In terms of visitors safisfaction.” Aim for shorter, controlled comparisons first, then combine ideas with accurate clauses. Proofreading for agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries would improve clarity.
