Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify two relevant overall features: visitor numbers rose after the refurbishment, and satisfaction improved. You also report the visitor totals accurately as 74,000 and 92,000. However, the response gives almost no detail from the satisfaction charts: it does not report the changes in the satisfied or dissatisfied groups, or compare the categories. The phrase “the ratio of stastified visitors increased” is too vague to show the scale or pattern of change. The response is also far below the required 150 words, leaving the task substantially incomplete. To develop the summary, include the key percentages—for example, satisfaction rose from 45% to 75%, while dissatisfaction fell from 50% to 20%—and organise these with a clear overview.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall direction: it first signals a general trend and then gives the visitor totals. The linking phrase “as per” also attempts to connect the chart information. However, the ideas are compressed into one sentence, with no clear separation between an overview and supporting details. The sequence is difficult to follow because “overall the same show” does not clearly introduce what is being compared, and “in details” does not lead into any actual detail. Use a short overview followed by a paragraph comparing the survey results, and another sentence for visitor numbers. Clear sentence boundaries and straightforward links such as “By contrast” would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “visitors,” “increased,” and “renovation,” so the main subject can be recognised. However, the range is very limited, and several choices or spellings make the meaning less clear: “stastified” is misspelled, “ratio” is not the most accurate term for survey percentages, and “the same show” is unclear. “Tourist” is also less suitable here than “visitors,” since the chart counts museum visitors rather than tourists specifically. Aim for precise chart language such as “proportion,” “percentage,” “satisfied,” and “dissatisfied,” and use comparison verbs such as “rose,” “fell,” and “accounted for.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to connect several ideas in one sentence, and the reader can infer the basic comparison between the two visitor totals. However, sentence structure is not controlled consistently. The opening, “overall the same show,” lacks a clear grammatical subject and verb, while “the total amount of tourist to Ashu down museum measured as 74000” has an incomplete and confusing construction. The phrase “visitors increased to 92000” also needs a clearer subject, such as “the number of visitors increased.” Capitalisation and punctuation are missing, making the sentence boundaries unclear. Practise writing complete, simple sentences first, then combine related comparisons with accurate clauses and punctuation.
