Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the overall visitor totals correctly (74,000 before and 92,000 after) and note that non-response remained at 5%. However, several survey figures are misreported, which makes the account only partially accurate: before refurbishment, 40% were dissatisfied and 10% very dissatisfied, not the reverse; 15% were very satisfied and 30% satisfied, not the figures you assign to those groups. After refurbishment, 35% were very satisfied and 40% satisfied, rather than 5% satisfied. The claimed 10% increase in very dissatisfied visitors is also incorrect; this share fell from 10% to 5%. Include a clear overview of the main shift from dissatisfaction to satisfaction, then check each category against the chart before comparing it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure: it introduces the visuals, discusses the first period, then the second, and ends with a conclusion. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression is weakened by repeated or awkward linking phrases such as “More over that,” “On other side,” and “To conclude this,” and some connections between claims are unclear. For example, “which is only 15% and 10% before” does not clearly identify which satisfaction categories those figures refer to. The conclusion repeats one detail rather than summarising the overall comparison. Group the figures by period or by satisfaction level, use clear references, and make the overview the organising focus.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” “very satisfied,” and “no response,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “people were dissatisfied on the Museum,” “no responded,” and “the no response ratio.” Spelling errors including “pople,” “se,” and “vistors” also reduce accuracy. Repeated use of “people” and “more over that” makes the description less precise. Build a small set of accurate chart-description phrases, such as “the proportion of visitors,” “accounted for,” and “rose/fell from … to …,” and check spelling and collocations when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the reader can usually follow the intended comparisons. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and complex attempts are often faulty. Examples include “where chart displays,” which needs an article and a clearer clause structure, and “35% people is very satisfied,” where the plural subject requires a plural verb and a suitable construction. “Where there is 5% of people were no responded” combines incompatible clause patterns, while “there is 20% increase” is missing an article. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise accurate comparative structures such as “The share of visitors who were satisfied rose from 30% to 40%,” then proofread for articles, agreement, and complete clauses.
