Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the main subject and report several relevant figures, including the rise in visitors from 74,000 to 92,000 and the before-refurbishment satisfaction percentages. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the overview is left unfinished (“Overall, it is clear that”), and the after-refurbishment survey is cut off after noting that satisfaction reached 40%. Important changes—such as very satisfied rising to 35% and dissatisfied falling to 15%—are therefore not reported. The response also falls 25 words short of the required minimum, limiting the detail available. Complete the overview and compare the main shifts in both charts, rather than leaving the final comparison unfinished.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: the response begins with an introduction, attempts an overview, and then separates the visitor figures from the survey details. Phrases such as “Turning to pie charts” help signal a change of focus. However, progression is weakened by the incomplete overview and the final sentence ending with “whereas,” which leaves the comparison unfinished. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, as in “After observing table,” and the sequence of satisfaction figures is difficult to follow. Use complete paragraphs with a clear overview followed by a systematic comparison of before and after results. Linking expressions should connect finished ideas, not introduce clauses that are left incomplete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” “increased,” and “reached,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, for example “peovided,” “visted,” “refubrishment,” and “catagory.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “the amount of visitors visited” and “citizens” do not fit this context well. Prefer accurate chart language such as “the number of visitors,” “respondents,” and “proportion.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard collocations would make the information easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer structures, including a comparison with “while” and a sentence using “whereas,” but the range remains limited and the longer constructions are not consistently controlled. Errors in sentence structure and verb forms appear in phrases such as “the amount of visitors visited” and “40% of people are dissatisfied,” where the past survey period calls for past-tense reporting. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, and “after the construction there are 92,000 of people visited” combines incompatible patterns. Use straightforward, complete sentences and check tense, articles, and the structure after reporting verbs. Ensure each comparison has a complete main clause.
