Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and the figures you report are mostly accurate: visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15% and very satisfied responses rose from 15% to 35%. However, the overview is unclear and includes a major misreading: you say the largest proportion after refurbishment was “very dissatisfied,” when it was satisfied, at 40%. The statement that survey results were “accounted similar by no response” is also unclear; no response remained at 5% in both years. Some details are expressed imprecisely, such as “40 people” rather than 40% of respondents. A clearer overview identifying the main shifts would make the report more complete and accurate.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and separate paragraphs for the two periods, and you use linking expressions such as “whereas,” “In addition” and “However.” Nevertheless, progression is weakened by unclear or incomplete sentences, including “Turning to result surveys of visitors satisfaction chart, year before refurbishment,” which does not form a complete thought. Some connections are also awkward or repetitive, and the overview’s contrast between visitor numbers and survey results is difficult to follow. Organise the survey figures consistently—for example, compare each satisfaction category across the two years—and use clear topic sentences and references. This would create a more coherent progression rather than a sequence of loosely connected figures.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “proportion,” “dissatisfied” and “increased,” so the reader can identify the topic and many comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “the largest proportion shared by very dissatisfied,” “40 people contributed by dissatisfied” and “10 people were satisfied by before it gone in refurbishment.” “Table chart” and “pie charts” are also imprecise labels for the visuals. Aim for standard reporting phrases such as “accounted for,” “the proportion of respondents” and “rose/fell to.” Check spelling as well, including “Mesume” and “Furthrmore.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use comparison structures, as in “whereas, it increased to 92,000,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur frequently: “the total number … was increased,” “results of surveys … was accounted similar,” and “after refurbishment of Museum” are examples. The fragment “Turning to result surveys of visitors satisfaction chart, year before refurbishment” also shows difficulty forming complete sentences. These problems sometimes make the intended relationship between figures unclear. Practise accurate simple reporting patterns first, such as “The number increased from X to Y” and “The proportion of dissatisfied visitors fell to X%,” then combine them with clauses using “while” or “whereas.”
