Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover the main features and give a clear overall impression that the refurbishment was followed by more visitors and improved satisfaction. The figures are mostly accurate: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, very satisfied responses increased from 15% to 35%, and dissatisfied responses fell from 40% to 15%. You also note that no response stayed at 5%. This range of relevant comparisons supports a strong response to the task. However, “18,000 more” is more precise than the overview needs, and the claim that satisfied and dissatisfied percentages became “just opposite” is unclear: the after-refurbishment figures were 40% satisfied and 15% dissatisfied, not a direct reversal. A more precise overview of the overall shift would strengthen the response further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, sensible structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph comparing the survey results. The reader can follow the broad movement from lower satisfaction before refurbishment to higher satisfaction afterwards. However, progression within the body paragraph is weakened by a series of short, loosely connected statements, such as “Great achievement: 40% to only 15%” and “Although number of visitor with no response remained same at 5%.” Linking phrases such as “There was” and “So overall” are repeated, while some connections are unclear. Organise the comparisons into a more deliberate sequence—for example, group the positive categories together, then the negative categories—and use complete sentences with clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing the charts, including “refurbishment,” “category,” “increase,” “decrease,” and “remained same,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts at more expressive wording, such as “sharp decrease” and “positive feedback.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural for an academic report: “the experience they had,” “contrast of their experience,” and “Great achievement” sound informal or vague. Spelling errors such as “respone” also reduce accuracy. Aim for concise, neutral chart language and use collocations such as “visitor satisfaction,” “the proportion of respondents,” and “a marked decline.” This would make the vocabulary more precise and consistently appropriate to the task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex forms, including an overview sentence beginning “Overall” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” The main comparisons are usually understandable, but grammatical control is uneven. For example, “the number of people visited” needs a relative clause (“the number of people who visited”), and “18,000 more people visited … .there is” has faulty sentence punctuation and an uncapitalised new sentence. Other issues include missing articles in “number of visitor” and the incomplete construction “Sharp decrease of dissatisfied visitors is being shown.” These errors sometimes make the relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise complete sentence patterns for reporting figures, and check articles, plural forms, verb forms, and punctuation when editing.
