Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the main shifts: attendance rose after refurbishment, while satisfaction improved. The figures for visitors (74,000 and 92,000) and most survey categories are reported accurately. However, one important value is misread: before refurbishment, 30% were satisfied, not 10%; the 10% figure belongs to very dissatisfied visitors. The overview also says very dissatisfied and no-response results were lower, but no response stayed unchanged at 5%. This response meets the task well and shows some selection of key features, but the inaccurate figure and less precise overview prevent fuller coverage. Check each category against the chart before comparing it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs presenting the figures before and after refurbishment. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the information. You also use linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “In contrast” to signal relationships. However, some links are mechanical or awkward, including “Looking first at” and “While” at the start of an incomplete thought. The overview combines several comparisons in a confusing way, and the final paragraph lists figures without clearly distinguishing the categories. Use complete topic sentences and organise each comparison consistently—for example, report the two satisfaction levels together, then the two dissatisfaction levels.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitors,” “survey,” and “dissatisfied,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors reduce precision: “result of surveys,” “the number of visitor,” “most sigificant aspect,” and “no reponse result” are examples. Repetition of “result” and “number” also makes the description less flexible. Aim for accurate chart language such as “survey results,” “the proportion of visitors,” and “the share reporting dissatisfaction.” Proofread spelling carefully, especially for key terms, and choose wording that clearly identifies whether you mean a count or a percentage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and more complex comparisons, and the main message is usually understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “the table and charts … provides” should use a plural verb, while “the number of visitor … was” needs a plural noun and clearer agreement. The opening overview also contains a faulty construction: “the number of visitors increase” should be “increased,” and “While very dissatisfied and no reponse result lower then all” is not a complete sentence. Punctuation spacing and comma use are also uneven. Practise building complete sentences around one clear comparison, then check subject–verb agreement and verb tense.
