Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main comparison: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, and satisfaction was generally higher after refurbishment. Several survey figures are also reported accurately, including the 15% very satisfied before and 35% after, and the 5% no-response figures. However, there are important inaccuracies: before refurbishment, very dissatisfied visitors were 10%, not 30%; and after refurbishment, satisfied visitors were 40%, not 15%. The statement that dissatisfaction “increased” before refurbishment is unclear and does not describe a change between periods. A clearer overview should summarise the shift from mostly dissatisfied responses before refurbishment to mostly satisfied responses afterwards, while reporting the categories consistently as percentages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure, moving from the pre-refurbishment results to the post-refurbishment results and ending with an overview. This makes the two periods reasonably easy to distinguish. However, progression within the paragraphs is weakened by repeated sentence patterns and unclear links, such as “The number of partipication in survey has also increased after increased in visitors.” The opening sentence does not establish a useful direction for the report, and the final overview repeats points already made rather than bringing the main comparisons together precisely. Organise the response around a concise overview followed by grouped comparisons, and use linking phrases to show contrasts between the two periods rather than repeating “So in survey”.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitor satisfaction,” “dissatisfied,” and “no response,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “number of disatisfaction increased” is not a clear description of the data, while “number of partipication” appears to mean the number of survey participants. “Just satisfied” is less suitable than the chart category “satisfied,” and “the number has quite increased” is an unnatural way to describe the rise. Use the chart’s category labels consistently and choose precise reporting phrases such as “the proportion of visitors” or “visitor numbers rose.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response communicates its broad message, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in both simple and more ambitious sentences. For example, “The pie chart shows the results of surveys of visitor satisfaction who visited to ashdown museum is explained below” has a confused clause structure, while “people who didn't gave no response” contains an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “visited museum” and “after increased in visitors.” Most sentences follow a similar simple pattern, with limited accurate use of complex structures. Practise building clear comparison sentences with a subject, verb and accurate time reference—for example, “Visitor numbers increased after the refurbishment, while the proportion who were dissatisfied fell.” Check verb forms and sentence boundaries during editing.
