Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover the main elements of the task and give a clear overall comparison: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while satisfaction improved after refurbishment. Several figures are accurately reported, including the 5% with no response in both years and the fall in very dissatisfied visitors from 10% to 5%. The response also notes the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35%. This range of relevant details meets the task well, with some of the stronger overview features already identified. However, the comparison that “40% people became satisfied” is unclear: 40% were dissatisfied before, whereas 40% were satisfied after. State the categories and figures precisely, and include the after-refurbishment dissatisfied figure of 15% to make the shift clearer and more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs of supporting figures. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the information, and the final paragraph usefully groups the unchanged no-response share with the decline in very dissatisfied visitors. However, progression within the detail is sometimes difficult to follow because time references and categories are not consistently expressed. For example, “after that” and “after reconditioned” make it harder to identify which year or survey category is being discussed, while “40% people became satisfied” blurs the comparison. Use clear labels such as “before refurbishment” and “after refurbishment” throughout, and organise the satisfaction categories in a consistent order. This would make the links between comparisons less mechanical and more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “delineate,” “reconditioned,” and “refurbished,” but control of word choice and collocation is limited. Several alternatives for refurbishment are inaccurate or unnatural in this context, such as “rebuilt,” “renovated,” and “restablished”; using one accurate term consistently would improve clarity. “Tourists” and “individuals” are also less suitable than “visitors” for describing the survey and table. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “opnion,” “propotion,” “respons,” and “refubished,” which reduce the polish of the report. Aim for a smaller, more reliable set of task-specific terms and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish visitor totals from percentages in the survey.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and some longer structures, and the main message is usually understandable. However, grammatical control is uneven, with errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “the number of individuals increased after the refurbished” has an incomplete construction, and “the amount of people were 74,000” has a mismatch between the singular subject and verb. “Before reconditioned, the amount of people were” also lacks a clear grammatical subject and time expression. Try straightforward patterns such as “The number of visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000” and “Before refurbishment, 40% of visitors were dissatisfied.” These models will let you report comparisons accurately while reducing errors in longer sentences.
