The table illustrates the numbers of people who visit Ashdown Museum and the result of surveys ask to the visitors how satisfied they were with their visit before and after the year it is refurbish.

Overall, more tourist went to Ashdown Museum after the refurbishment than how it looks like before, whereas in the survey showed that visitors have higher satisfaction rate after the museum renovated compared to the previous one. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

You cover the main features accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, overall satisfaction increased, and dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%. The overview identifies the broad contrast between the two periods, and the body includes relevant comparisons, including the rise in very satisfied responses from 15% to 35% and the unchanged 5% with no response. This gives the report a clear, well-supported account of the key data. To make the coverage more complete, distinguish the two positive categories explicitly: “satisfied” rose from 30% to 40%, while “very satisfied” rose from 15% to 35%. Also state that very dissatisfied responses fell from 10% to 5%, rather than describing only a five-point decrease.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to visitor totals and then survey results. This ordering is logical, and phrases such as “Overall” and “In terms of” help signal the report’s stages. The main comparisons are generally easy to follow. However, some links are awkward or unclear, particularly “Overall… whereas in the survey showed” and the opening sentence of the final paragraph, which combines several comparisons without a clean structure. The overview also uses “And” to begin a sentence, making the progression feel less controlled. For stronger cohesion, use clearer topic sentences and connect each comparison directly to its category and period.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “satisfaction,” “substantial decrease,” and “declined,” which helps communicate the main trends. There is also an attempt to vary wording rather than repeat “increase” throughout. However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems limit precision: “how it looks like before” is unsuitable for describing visitor numbers, “numbers of dissatisfaction” is unnatural, and “disatisfaction” and “noticable” are misspelled. “Tourist” is also less accurate than “visitors” here. Aim for standard chart-reporting phrases such as “visitor numbers,” “the proportion of dissatisfied respondents,” and “was noticeably higher.” Check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “whereas” and clauses beginning “after.” However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, or sentence construction, and these sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “the result of surveys ask to the visitors” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “before it was recorded 74000 visitors where there was a observable increased” is not grammatically controlled. The sentence beginning “And it is observable…” is also awkwardly joined to the preceding overview. Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “Visitor numbers increased from 74,000 before the refurbishment to 92,000 afterwards.” Use past tense consistently when reporting these completed periods.
