Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report the main visitor totals accurately (74,000 before and 92,000 after) and identify the broad shift from dissatisfaction towards satisfaction. Most survey percentages are also correctly compared, including dissatisfaction falling from 40% to 15% and satisfaction rising from 30% to 40%. However, the overview is brief and incomplete: it does not clearly summarise the overall change across the satisfaction categories, and the final sentence ends without completing its point. The response also contains only 132 words, below the required 150, so the task is not fully developed. Add a fuller overview and explain the key pattern rather than listing figures alone; ensure every category is clearly reported and the conclusion is complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, a paragraph reporting the figures, and a concluding statement. This gives the reader some organisation, and words such as “Moreover” and “To conclude” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is limited because nearly all survey data is placed in one long paragraph as a sequence of figures, without grouping positive and negative responses. Some linking is mechanical, and the final sentence is unfinished, leaving the conclusion unclear. The opening also repeats the task wording rather than establishing a concise overview. To improve, use separate paragraphs for the visitor total and survey results, group related categories, and connect comparisons with clear references such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for describing the charts, including “visitors,” “refurbishment,” “satisfied,” and “dissatisfied,” so the topic remains understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or too informal for an academic report. “Pull” in “it was able to pull 92000 visitors” is an unsuitable collocation, while “hiked” and “repairing” do not fit the intended meaning. There are also spelling errors, including “distisfied” and “acounts,” and “pie chart” is singular although the task presents two charts. Choose precise reporting language and check spelling and word forms. For example, describe visitor numbers as having “increased” and satisfaction as having “risen.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a comparison with “whereas,” and the main figures can generally be understood. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction and agreement. In “the highest number of visitors were really dissatisfied,” the subject “number” requires a singular verb, and “as they accounts” has incorrect agreement. “5% of the to visitors do not gives” contains several grammatical problems, while “in both two period” has incorrect number and determiner use. The final sentence, “the level of satisfaction among them,” is incomplete. Practise accurate percentage constructions, subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and proofread each sentence for a complete clause. Varying sentence patterns will help once these basics are controlled.
