Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report the key visitor totals accurately (74,000 before and 92,000 after) and include all five satisfaction categories for both periods. The main pattern is also captured in your closing point that satisfaction improved after refurbishment. However, the overview is brief and repeated, and the response does not clearly highlight the most important contrasts: dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, while the combined satisfied groups rose from 45% to 75%. Some figures are presented without the category being repeated, making them less clear—for example, “30 were satisfied” and “15 were very satisfied.” To strengthen the response, give a concise overview of the major changes, then compare the figures explicitly and consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has separate paragraphs and follows a broadly sensible order, moving from the visitor totals to the survey results. However, progression is weakened by repeating the task description and the table information in the opening and again in the next paragraphs. Linking phrases such as “First of all” and “To sum up” provide some structure, but the chart discussion is difficult to follow because “in the second two charts” and “in the second chart” do not clearly identify the period or category. The final summary is also very short and does not bring together the main comparisons. Organise the response into an introduction, a clear overview, and focused detail paragraphs, using precise references such as “before refurbishment” and “after refurbishment.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbished,” “satisfied,” “dissatisfied,” “percentage,” and “total number of visitors,” so the reader can understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or unnatural, such as “visitors that visit” and “comparison of visitors in the result of survey.” Spelling errors, including “totall,” “witch,” and “disatisfied,” also reduce accuracy. Some wording is imprecise: “large amount were dissatisfied” does not clearly describe the proportion. Aim for concise, standard chart language and vary how you report figures, for example, “accounted for,” “rose to,” and “fell to.” Check spelling carefully, especially for repeated key terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most of your sentences use simple structures, and the main figures can generally be understood. However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “Here is the table that shows the number of visitors that visit” has awkward tense and clause construction, while “there are two charts that show the comparison” does not form a clear description of what is compared. Agreement and sentence formation are also problematic in “Over all table show” and “These total visitors are 74,000 before and 92,000 after.” The response relies heavily on repeated “there is/are” patterns and has limited control of complex sentences. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build clear comparisons, such as “The number rose from 74,000 to 92,000.”
