Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the main changes: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while satisfaction was stronger after refurbishment. Most figures are reported accurately, including the 40% dissatisfied and 30% satisfied before, and the 40% satisfied and 35% very satisfied afterwards. However, the survey figures are percentages, not numbers of visitors: phrases such as “40000 visitors” and “15000 visitors” misrepresent what the charts show. The overview also gives several details without clearly prioritising the broad shift from dissatisfaction to satisfaction. Describe the survey results as proportions or percentages and make that overall contrast explicit to present the key features more clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to a general summary and then to details from each period. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the move to the post-refurbishment results, and the final sentence returns to the overall outcome. However, the overview paragraph contains many figures in a long sequence, making the main comparison harder to follow. Some links are also awkward or unclear, such as “Five visitors were responded on the surey,” and the final “In summary” repeats the overview rather than adding a distinct conclusion. Group the figures by period and use clearer links to compare the two sets of satisfaction results.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “satisfaction,” “dissatisfaction,” and “survey,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range and control are limited by repetition of “visitors,” “museum,” and “renovation,” as well as inaccurate or unnatural expressions such as “visitors who visited,” “showed level of dissatisfaction,” and “Five visitors were responded.” Several spelling errors—“refurshed,” “otehr,” “surey,” and “vistors”—also reduce accuracy. Choose concise, precise terms for chart data: for example, refer to “respondents” and “percentages” rather than treating survey proportions as visitor counts. More accurate collocations would make the report clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “whereas” and a result clause with “this shows that.” However, some sentence structures are faulty or difficult to control. For example, “the two pie charts shows” has subject–verb disagreement, while “the number of visitors … were 74,000” uses an incorrect verb form with a singular subject. The opening sentence also joins two independent ideas with a comma, and “Five visitors were responded” has an incorrect passive construction. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas less clear. Practise agreement, sentence boundaries, and verb patterns, then check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
