The table demostrates that how many visitors visited the Ashdown Museum during a year before and after the renovation took place, while the pie charts display visitors satisfaction during their visit in the same time periods.
Overall, the number of visitors increased after renovation, and the percentage of people who dissatisfied decreased to almost its half, whereas the figure for very satisfied visitors went nearly double.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
The response selects the main features accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, very satisfied responses increased from 15% to 35%, and dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%. The overview also identifies the broad improvement in satisfaction after refurbishment. Most figures are reported correctly, including the unchanged 5% with no response and the fall in very dissatisfied visitors from 10% to 5%. However, one important comparison is inaccurate: satisfied visitors rose from 30% to 40%, not from 15% to 35%. The overview’s claim that dissatisfaction fell to “almost its half” is also imprecise, since it dropped to well under half its former level. Correcting these details would make the otherwise clear and well-selected account more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, visitor totals, and then survey details. This gives the reader a logical route through the information, and phrases such as “Overall” and “Moving on to survey results” help signal the stages. The progression is generally easy to follow, but some linking is mechanical, and the final paragraph groups several separate categories into one long sentence. The reference in “the percentage of people showing dissatisfaction reduced to 15%” could also be more explicit about the category being discussed. To strengthen cohesion, group the satisfaction categories together and the dissatisfaction categories together, using concise comparisons rather than repeatedly introducing “the figure” or “the percentage.”
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “survey results,” “dissatisfaction,” and “remained unchanged.” These choices communicate the main comparisons, and the writer attempts some variation with “renovation” and “refurbishment.” However, several word-choice and collocation problems reduce precision: “demostrates” is misspelled, “visitors satisfaction” is not a natural phrase, and “people who did not response” uses the wrong form. “The figure for very satisfied visitors went nearly double” is also awkward. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “visitor satisfaction,” “those who did not respond,” and “the proportion of very satisfied visitors more than doubled.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple sentences and more complex structures, including a contrast clause with “whereas” and a time clause in the introduction. Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “The table demonstrates that how many visitors” has an incorrect clause structure; use “The table shows how many visitors” or “The table demonstrates the number of visitors.” In “The number of visitors … were 74000,” the singular subject requires “was,” and “visitors who were ‘very satisfied’, increased” needs a grammatical subject and verb connection. There are also article and sentence-boundary issues in “10% visitors were very dissatisfied.” More consistent control of these patterns would improve accuracy.
