Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main overall changes: visitor numbers increased from 74,000 to 92,000, and satisfaction improved, with the satisfied categories rising while dissatisfaction fell. Most survey figures are reported accurately. However, the before-refurbishment “No response” figure is 5%, not 10%, and the overview would be stronger if it clearly highlighted the largest shifts, especially the rise in “very satisfied” responses from 15% to 35%. The response is also below the required 150 words: it contains 126 words, with 21 words copied from the prompt excluded from the count. This limits how fully you can select and report the key features. Check each figure against the chart and develop the comparisons further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure, with an introduction, an overview and separate discussion of visitor numbers and survey results. This helps the reader locate the main information. However, progression is limited: “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” do not establish a clear contrast between the points that follow, and “However” is repeated even where no contrast is needed. The survey figures are mostly listed rather than grouped into a clear comparison between the two years. For stronger organisation, use one paragraph for visitor totals and another comparing satisfaction categories before and after, with linking phrases such as “By contrast” only where appropriate.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbished,” “visitors,” “satisfied” and “dissatisfied,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “people feel satisfied” and “people very dissatisfied with Museum.” Some choices also sound unnatural, including “the result of surveys” and “remaning same.” Use concise reporting language and vary the verbs, for example, “accounted for,” “rose” and “fell.” Take care to use accurate forms and collocations so that the survey categories are described clearly and consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the main figures can usually be understood. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “how satisfied they with their visit” is missing a verb, while “and and proportion … also increase” has repetition and incorrect verb form. Other problems include “One the one hand,” “15% people,” and “no response remaning same 5%.” Practise accurate sentence patterns such as “The proportion of visitors who were satisfied increased from 30% to 40%.” Check articles, verb forms, agreement and punctuation before submitting.
