Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the main pattern: attendance rose and feedback became more positive after refurbishment. The reported survey figures for very satisfied, satisfied, dissatisfied and no response are accurate. However, there is an important inconsistency in the visitor total: the overview correctly gives 74,000 before refurbishment, but the body later says 72,000. Also, “75% visitors shows positive feedback” is unclear and does not accurately summarise the after-refurbishment results: the two positive categories total 75%, but this should be stated as the share who were satisfied or very satisfied. The main features are relevant, though the comparison of very dissatisfied responses (10% to 5%) is omitted. Check figures carefully and explain the key comparisons precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to an overview and then to supporting details. The contrast between rising satisfaction and falling dissatisfaction is also relevant. However, progression is weakened by repetition: the positive impact of refurbishment is stated several times, including in the overview and the final sentence, while the body repeats the visitor increase. Paragraphing is unclear because the overview and details run together, and the long gap before the final data paragraph does not create a clear structure. Some linking is awkward or inaccurate, such as “whereas charts show” and “meanwhile” in the final comparison. Use distinct paragraphs for the introduction, overview and details, and connect each comparison directly to the relevant figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “proportion,” “survey” and “dissatisfied,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-form errors are noticeable, such as “vistors,” “considerabley,” “respectevely,” “satifactery” and “reburbishment.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “satisfaction level” is repeated, “positive feedback” is used where a percentage of respondents is meant, and “the level of satisfied visitors rose” is not a natural collocation. Aim for accurate, varied terms such as “visitor satisfaction,” “share of respondents” and “the proportion who were satisfied.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would make the data description clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons linked with “whereas” and “because,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence boundaries and punctuation are evident in “overall, the table shows…” and “which shows changes…,” where a capital letter or a complete sentence is needed. There are also problems with articles, agreement and verb forms: “The chart illustrate,” “number of visitors increased,” and “museum had have positive impact.” The phrase “one was before the refurbishment and following the year after refurbishment” is difficult to follow grammatically. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear, although the main message remains understandable. Practise accurate sentence construction and check subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms before submitting.
