Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover the main features and make relevant comparisons: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, and satisfaction increased after refurbishment. Your overview also identifies the broad contrast between the two survey periods. This meets the task well, with some evidence of the more selective, comparative reporting expected at a stronger level. However, the account is not fully complete: it omits the change in “very dissatisfied” responses (10% to 5%) and does not mention that “no response” remained at 5%. Also, “mostly people were dissatisfied” is imprecise because 40% was the largest category, not a majority. Include these details and distinguish clearly between percentages and visitor counts.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for visitor numbers and survey results. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the information. You also use linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In contrast,” and “Moreover” to signal relationships. At times, however, cohesion is mechanical or unclear. The transition from the overview to “Initially” is not especially precise, and “these numbers” in the visitor paragraph could refer to either the people or the total. The final paragraph also packs several survey comparisons together, making the progression harder to follow. Organise the survey results into clear positive and negative changes, and use explicit references such as “the proportion of dissatisfied visitors”.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “considerable rise,” “decreased,” and “remains stable,” and the main information is generally understandable. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate wording. “Tourists” and “individuals” are not the most natural terms for museum survey respondents; “visitors” is more precise. Phrases such as “satisfactions,” “satisfied results,” and “huge surge in these” are awkward or unclear, while spelling errors including “torists,” “clealy,” and “decresed” are noticeable. Aim for accurate collocations and avoid intensifiers such as “huge” when a neutral description is more suitable. A more precise vocabulary would make the comparisons easier to interpret.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including contrast structures such as “Although…” and “In contrast…”. Nevertheless, errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation are frequent enough to make some passages difficult to read. For example, “the total number of visitors … were much higher” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “There are 30 individuals were satisfied” combines incompatible sentence patterns. The opening also runs two sentences together after “refurbished,” and “the of individuals” is an incomplete construction. Practise building complete clauses with one clear subject and verb, and check agreement and sentence boundaries. For example: “The number of visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000 after the refurbishment.”
