Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main increase in visitor numbers, from 74,000 to 92,000, and recognise the broad shift from dissatisfaction towards satisfaction after refurbishment. However, some survey details are confused or inaccurate: before refurbishment, 30% were satisfied and 15% very satisfied, but the response calls the 30% group “very satisfactory” and later repeats 35% for the post-refurbishment very satisfied figure. The statement about dissatisfaction and no response combining to 15% before is also incorrect; together they total 45%. The overview is relevant, but the report does not clearly and accurately cover all categories, and the final comparison is unfinished. Select the key figures carefully and check each category against the chart.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and details about visitor numbers and survey results. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression becomes difficult to follow in the final paragraph, where several categories are introduced in a long sequence using “while,” “followed by,” and “and then.” The repeated references to “very satisfactory” also make it unclear which survey category is being described. The final sentence breaks off, leaving the comparison incomplete. Use separate paragraphs for visitor totals and satisfaction results, and organise the survey figures in a clear order, with explicit comparisons between the two years.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of task-related vocabulary, including “surge,” “proportion,” “dramatic decline,” and “recorded,” which helps communicate the general topic. However, word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “meseum,” “decoratiry work,” “satisfactory rate,” and “dissatisfactionpecentage.” “Survey conclusion” is also not a natural way to describe survey findings. Repetition of “work” and “proportion” limits flexibility, while “very satisfactory” is imprecise for the chart’s category “very satisfied.” Use the chart’s exact labels and practise accurate collocations for describing percentages and changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including comparisons with “while,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in phrases such as “The charts shows,” “the results … tells us,” and “dramatic decline have been seen.” Articles and sentence boundaries are also unreliable: the opening sentences run together after “refurbished” and “period,” and several later sentences lack clear punctuation. The final clause, “while the noresponse percenyage re,” is incomplete, which prevents the idea from being understood. These recurring problems can make the reader work to interpret the report. Build accuracy by checking subject–verb agreement and ensuring every sentence has a complete main clause.
