Student answer (Band 5.0)

The table and pie charts represents information about the how many people visit in Ashdown museum before and after reconsturcted and pie chart shows that visitors satisfaction level. Overall what stand out from the diagrams are that after refurbishment visitors number are increase and visitors satisfaction level also raised after development.

Form the table before development there are 74000 visitors comes to visit the museum. Where from the survey in the past time only 15% of them are fully satisfied but when it make development then this rate increased more than double at 35%. Before development actually satisfied visitors are only 10% among total people but after redecoration this satisfaction level go down half and reached at 5%. However, dissatisfied visitors are in highest position at 40% in past time when it was in old version and after reconstruction this dissatisfied visitors are in same level there are no change.

Furthermore, in the past very dissatisfied visitors are 10% amonh total visitors where after refurbishment this level are go down half at 5%. Nevertheless, people with no response are in same level in before and after development at 5%. But after redevelopment total number of visitors are increased significantly which is 92000 almost more than 20000. So this are the survey result of that museum.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main overall changes: visitor numbers rose after refurbishment, and satisfaction generally improved. You also include several relevant percentages. However, some key figures are misreported, which limits the accuracy of the summary. Before refurbishment, 30% were satisfied, not 10%; after refurbishment, this rose to 40%, rather than falling to 5%. Dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, so it did not remain unchanged. The overview also says satisfaction rose without clearly distinguishing the positive responses from the decline in dissatisfaction. To strengthen the response, check each category against the chart and summarise the main contrast accurately: satisfied or very satisfied responses increased, while dissatisfied responses decreased.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening overview followed by paragraphs describing survey results and visitor totals. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Furthermore,” and “However” help signal relationships between points. However, progression is weakened by inaccurate comparisons and by moving between categories without a clear grouping. For example, the discussion shifts from very satisfied to satisfied, then dissatisfied, and later very dissatisfied, while the final visitor total is added at the end. Group the two positive categories together and the negative categories together, then report the visitor total in a clear comparison. Some connectors, including “Nevertheless” and “But,” feel repetitive or do not clearly express the relationship between the figures.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “visitors,” “satisfaction level,” “refurbishment,” and “dissatisfied,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. Phrases such as “visitors number are increase,” “fully satisfied,” and “in the same level” are not natural ways to describe the data. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “reconsturcted” and “amonh.” Use precise chart language consistently, such as “the proportion of visitors who were satisfied,” “rose to,” and “fell from … to ….” This would make comparisons clearer and more appropriately formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify the intended comparisons. However, errors are frequent, and complex sentences are often not controlled successfully. Examples include “The table and pie charts represents,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “visitors number are increase,” which has an incorrect verb form and word order. Articles and sentence patterns are also problematic in “when it make development” and “there are no change.” These errors sometimes make the relationships between figures difficult to follow. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and basic comparison structures, for example, “Visitor numbers increased from 74,000 to 92,000” and “the dissatisfied share fell from 40% to 15%.”
