Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main overall changes: visitor numbers rose after refurbishment, and satisfaction improved. Several key figures are also reported accurately, including 74,000 and 92,000 visitors, and the before-refurbishment figures of 30% satisfied and 40% dissatisfied. However, some comparisons are unclear or incorrect. After refurbishment, 15% were dissatisfied, not “nearly quarter,” and the 5% figure applies to very dissatisfied visitors, not satisfied visitors; satisfaction rose to 40%, rather than declining to 5%. The description also calls 10% “very dissatisfied” before refurbishment, although this is correct, but the overview’s “reduction in dissatisfaction” would be stronger if it distinguished dissatisfied from very dissatisfied. More precise reporting and a clearer selection of the main changes would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of the two periods. Phrases such as “Overall” and “Moving towards further details” signal a shift in focus. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear, and several figures are crowded into long sentences, making comparisons difficult to follow. The final sentence, for example, moves from dissatisfaction to very satisfied and then to satisfied without clearly linking the categories or explaining the contrast. Some linking expressions are awkward or repetitive, and punctuation around them is inconsistent. Organise the details into a clear before-and-after comparison, and use shorter sentences with explicit references to each satisfaction category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitors,” “satisfied,” and “dissatisfied,” and attempt more descriptive wording such as “drastic increment” and “hit 92,000.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the data hard to interpret. “Drastic increment” is not a natural collocation here, while “hit” is too informal for this report. Spelling errors such as “vivit,” “befor,” “stisfied,” and “disatisfied” are noticeable, and “half of a quater” does not clearly express the intended proportion. Use precise chart language and check spelling carefully so that category labels and comparisons remain clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “As it can be seen that…” and a sentence beginning “Moving towards further details.” However, many sentences contain errors in structure, agreement, articles, or punctuation, and these sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “there was reduction in dissatisfaction” needs an article, and “the number of very disatisfied people reducet to 15%” has an incorrect verb form and does not clearly identify the category. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure, while several clauses are joined with commas or run together. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use accurate past-tense forms when describing the survey results.
