Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover the main elements of the task: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, and satisfaction improved, with dissatisfaction falling from 40% to 15%. You also report most of the survey categories for both periods, and the overall comparison is relevant. However, the overview focuses mainly on dissatisfaction and does not clearly summarise the broader shift from predominantly negative responses before refurbishment to predominantly positive responses afterwards. Some details are unclear or inaccurately expressed: “15percent individual show good response” does not identify the category clearly, and the opening calls the visuals a table and chart without accurately describing the survey charts. A sharper overview and more precise reporting of each category would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two periods. This makes the before-and-after comparison reasonably easy to follow. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated openings such as “According to,” “On the other hand,” and “It is apparently seen.” Some links do not express the relationship accurately; for example, “On the other hand” introduces another category rather than a genuine contrast. The overview also repeats the idea of dissatisfaction without bringing together the main positive and negative changes. Grouping satisfied responses together and dissatisfied responses together, then comparing the periods, would create clearer progression and reduce repetition.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “dissatisfied,” “satisfied,” “increment,” and “response,” so the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably unnatural, such as “visitors thinking,” “good response,” “huge amount,” and “a large increment the number.” Repetition of “visitors,” “museum,” and “ratio” also makes the account less precise. Choose standard chart language and vary it carefully: for example, describe percentages as “the share of visitors,” and say that visitor numbers “increased.” More accurate collocations would improve clarity without requiring unusually advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the main figures are usually understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “before and after it was refurbishment,” “The chart show,” and “74000 visitors visit the museum”; these need forms such as “before and after it was refurbished,” “The charts show,” and “74,000 visitors visited.” Several clauses are also joined or punctuated awkwardly, as in “while 15percent individual show good response.” Build accurate short sentences first, then combine them with controlled comparative clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, past-tense reporting, and sentence punctuation during revision.
