Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the subject of both visuals and report several key figures accurately, including visitor totals of 74,000 and 92,000 and the satisfaction percentages. You also capture the broad shift from dissatisfaction before refurbishment to greater satisfaction afterwards. However, the overview is not clearly separated from the details, and the phrase “As for dissatisfaction, it rose” contradicts the data: dissatisfaction fell, with dissatisfied responses dropping from 40% to 15% and very dissatisfied responses from 10% to 5%. The response also contains only 118 words, below the required 150, so the comparison is underdeveloped. Add a clear overview and explain the main changes accurately, including the unchanged 5% no-response figure.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure: an opening, a paragraph about the year before refurbishment, and a paragraph about the year after. This gives the reader a general route through the information. However, progression is limited because the opening mixes the introduction with visitor totals, while the main comparisons are not brought together clearly. Some linking devices are awkward or inaccurate, such as “while” beginning a sentence after a full stop and “At last” for the final survey category. Repeated transitions such as “Moreover” and “Additionally” do not always clarify relationships. Organise the response around a concise overview followed by grouped comparisons, and use links such as “by contrast” or “whereas” to show changes precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “satisfied,” “dissatisfied,” and “outcome of surveys,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less precise. “Visitant” is not the natural term for museum visitors, “extremely satisfied” does not match the chart’s label “very satisfied,” and “the results of dissatisfaction” is an awkward collocation. There are also spelling errors such as “visistors.” Aim for accurate, consistent chart terminology and use a wider range of comparison language. For example, describe percentages as “accounted for” or “stood at,” and use “declined” for falling figures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including comparisons with “as compared to before” and clauses introduced by “asking visitors how satisfied they were.” However, errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “The charts illustrates” has subject–verb disagreement, and “before refurbishment 30% visistors were satisfied” lacks a clear grammatical frame. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “74,00 .While,” and the fragment “while, 15% were extremely satisfied.” The sentence “As for dissatisfaction, it rose from it's before condition 15% were dissatisfied” is structurally unclear. Practise complete sentences, agreement, punctuation, and clear comparative clauses before adding more complex structures.
