Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You identify the main trends accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, satisfaction increased, and dissatisfaction declined. The comparisons of very satisfied visitors (15% to 35%), satisfied visitors (30% to 40%), dissatisfied visitors (40% to 15%), and very dissatisfied visitors (10% to 5%) are grounded in the data. Your overview also captures the broad improvement after refurbishment. This is a clear, relevant summary that addresses the task. To make the reporting more complete and precise, state the figures for both visitor totals explicitly rather than describing only the increase, and clarify that the survey categories are percentages. The final point about no response is unfinished, so complete that comparison and ensure each selected feature is fully reported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs presenting the visitor and satisfaction data. The progression from overall change to positive ratings and then negative ratings is generally logical. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Firstly,” and “In addition” help signal this sequence. However, cohesion is not always smooth: “Whilst” is used to begin fragments or loosely connected clauses, and the final sentence stops before completing the point about non-responses. Some references, such as “the changes incorporated,” are also vague. To strengthen the organisation, group the survey results more systematically, use complete sentences instead of fragmentary transitions, and finish each comparison before moving to the next one.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for describing change, including “surged,” “increased,” “fell dramatically,” and “proportion.” These choices help communicate the main trends, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some less common expressions are inaccurate or unnatural: “participation” does not describe the number of museum visitors, “satisfication” is misspelled, and “very disappointing” does not accurately name the survey category “very dissatisfied.” Phrases such as “changes incorporated” and “visit into museum” are also awkward. Aim for precise, conventional chart language and check spelling and word forms carefully. For example, use “visitor numbers,” “very dissatisfied,” and “after the refurbishment” rather than less natural alternatives.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex structures, including comparisons and clauses introduced by “who” and “whilst.” However, some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make the relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “The charts compares” has subject–verb disagreement, while “number of visitors … have” also needs agreement and an article. “Whilst, there was a 10% increase…” is an incomplete or poorly attached clause, and the final “5% did not reviewed” has an incorrect verb form and is unfinished. Articles and prepositions are also inconsistent in phrases such as “towards Museum facilities” and “into museum.” Review agreement, sentence boundaries, and verb forms, and make sure each sentence has a complete main clause.
