Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the two main changes: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while satisfaction improved. Most figures are accurately reported, including the 50% dissatisfied or very dissatisfied before refurbishment, the 75% satisfied or very satisfied afterwards, and the unchanged 5% with no response. This gives the response a clear, relevant account of the data. To make the summary more complete and precise, distinguish the two dissatisfaction categories: dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, while very dissatisfaction fell from 10% to 5%. The phrase “a positive decrease of 25%” is unclear because it combines the overall change with the category figures. More precise comparisons would strengthen the reporting.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs comparing the periods. This makes the main progression easy to follow, and phrases such as “overall” and “year after refurbishment” help signal the stages. However, the final paragraph places several figures and comparisons in one long sentence, so the relationship between the 75% satisfied total and the separate dissatisfaction figures is not always clear. Some linking is also mechanical, particularly “eventually,” which does not naturally introduce a data comparison. Use shorter sentences to separate the visitor total from the survey results, and connect the figures with clear contrasts such as “by comparison” or “whereas.” This would make the organisation more controlled and the comparisons easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “visitor satisfaction,” “recorded,” “significant,” and “declined,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. There is also an attempt to vary wording rather than repeat “show.” However, several spelling errors and imprecise collocations reduce clarity, including “increas,” “refubishment,” “respons,” and “a number of 74000 visitors.” Phrases such as “50% among of them dissatisfied to very dissatisfied” and “positive decrease” are not natural or precise ways to describe survey results. Aim for standard forms such as “the proportion of visitors who were dissatisfied” and “fell by 25 percentage points.” Careful proofreading and more accurate collocations would make your vocabulary more effective for this data-reporting task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including a complex opening with “while” and an overview introduced by “overall.” The main information is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “the table provide” and “the charts illustrates” have subject–verb agreement errors, while “the year before refurbishment the museum recorded” needs clearer sentence structure and punctuation. In “the number of dissatisfied people witnessed a significant positive decrease of 25%,” the grammatical construction obscures what changed. There are also inconsistent or missing articles and awkward clause patterns. Practise building accurate comparison sentences, for example, “The proportion who were dissatisfied fell from 40% to 15%.” More consistent control of agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries would improve accuracy.
