Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You report several key figures accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, satisfaction increased from 30% to 40%, and the very satisfied share rose from 15% to 35%. You also note the fall in dissatisfaction from 40% to 15%. However, the response only partly fulfils the summary task. It does not give a clear overview of the main pattern, and the opening misidentifies the visuals as a pie chart rather than a table and charts. The statement that 5% had “no interest in visiting” is not supported: this category is “no response” in both years. Include the very dissatisfied figures and explain the overall shift from mostly dissatisfied feedback to mostly satisfied feedback to make the main features clearer and more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to separate the introduction from the data, and phrases such as “on the other hand” show an effort to connect comparisons. However, the information does not progress in a clear, logical sequence. The sentence beginning “in the fourth coming line” is difficult to understand and does not help guide the reader through the visuals. Connectors are sometimes used mechanically or inaccurately: “moreover” joins figures that would be clearer in a direct comparison, while “on the one hand” is not followed by a matching contrast. Organise the response into a brief introduction, an overview, and paragraphs grouping visitor totals and satisfaction results. Use clear references such as “before refurbishment” and “after refurbishment” consistently.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “visitors,” “refurbishment,” “satisfied,” and “dissatisfied,” so the basic subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, which can make the intended meaning unclear. For example, “pie chart” mislabels the visuals, “the fourth coming line” is not an appropriate description, and “people have no interest in visiting” changes the meaning of “no response.” Repeated use of “people” and “information” also limits precision. Choose vocabulary that describes the data directly, such as “proportion of visitors,” “survey responses,” and “very dissatisfied,” and use “rose” or “fell” to report changes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with linking words, but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence forms, including “The provided pie chart illustrate” (subject–verb agreement) and “74000 visitors visit” (verb form and tense). Articles and prepositions are also often missing or incorrect, as in “visit museum” and “satisfied from refurbishment.” Capitalisation and punctuation are uneven, particularly at the starts of sentences. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and complete comparison structures, for example, “The number of visitors increased from 74,000 to 92,000,” and check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries when editing.
