Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover the main features accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, satisfaction increased overall, and dissatisfaction fell. The overview identifies the strongest shifts, and the body supports it with the key percentages, including the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35% and the fall in dissatisfied visitors from 40% to 15%. This gives the report a clear, relevant focus. One detail is imprecise: 35% is more than double 15%, rather than “almost double.” Also, “the largest change in opinion” is not quite supported, since the increase in very satisfied responses is 20 percentage points, compared with a 25-point fall in dissatisfied responses. More precise comparisons would strengthen an otherwise well-selected account.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear four-paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to visitor totals and then satisfaction figures. This makes the information easy to follow, and phrases such as “The largest decrease” help signal a shift to the final comparison. The overall progression is sound, but some linking is awkward or mechanical: “moreover” joins ideas that would be clearer as separate sentences, while “The survey reported a large change” repeats the overview rather than advancing the comparison. References such as “their satisfaction level” could also be more precise. To strengthen cohesion, group the positive responses together and the negative responses together, and use concise comparisons to connect the figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a suitable range of vocabulary for describing trends, including “increased,” “decreased,” “proportion,” “ratio,” and “plummeted.” These choices help communicate the main changes, and the meaning remains clear. However, some word choices and collocations are imprecise: “the number went from 30% to 40%” confuses a percentage with a count, while “an annual of 92 thousand” is unnatural. There are also spelling errors in “opinion,” “enormous,” and “dissatisfied,” and “cut down to half” is not the most natural description of a fall from 10% to 5%. Aim for accurate chart language and check spelling carefully; this will make your vocabulary more controlled and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “not only increased but their satisfaction level increased as well” and the clause beginning “where their number plummeted.” Most sentences communicate the intended comparisons, but some grammatical and punctuation errors remain. For example, “The total annual count … was 74 thousand …, It increased” incorrectly joins two sentences with a comma, and “The largest number of visitors were satisfied” has a subject–verb agreement problem because “number” is singular. The phrase “after refurbishment of museum” also needs an article or possessive construction. Review sentence boundaries, agreement, and articles, while retaining your attempts at varied structures.
