Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You cover the key information and give a clear overview: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, and dissatisfaction was most common before refurbishment while satisfaction became more prominent afterwards. The figures you report for the survey categories are accurate, including the unchanged 5% with no response. This gives the response a well-supported account of the main changes. To make the reporting more precise, distinguish the two positive categories in the overview: after refurbishment, 40% were satisfied and 35% very satisfied, rather than describing the highest figure simply as “satisfied.” Also avoid the vague claim that a “significant number” visited before refurbishment when the exact comparison is available. A sharper overview would foreground the rise in visitors and the shift from dissatisfaction to satisfaction.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to visitor totals and survey details, with a final sentence on the unchanged no-response figure. This helps the reader follow the broad comparison. However, links between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear: repeated “However,” “Furthermore,” and “Adding more” do not always show the precise relationship between the figures. The second paragraph also combines visitor totals with survey results, while later paragraphs revisit categories in a less systematic order. Grouping the data into positive responses, negative responses, and no response would create clearer progression. Check referencing as well: “the highest figure given by visitor” is not immediately clear about which survey category it refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “refurbishment,” “survey,” “dissatisfied,” and “increased,” so the reader can understand the main comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by repeated wording and inaccurate collocations, including “visitors visited to,” “figure converted to satisfied,” and “given by visitor.” Spelling errors such as “museam” and “musueam” are noticeable, and “responsen” also reduces polish. Use concise, conventional language for chart reporting: visitors “rose” or “increased,” while survey respondents “reported” satisfaction. Varying “visitor” with “respondent” where appropriate, and using the exact category labels consistently, would make the account more precise and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including comparisons with “Although” and “however,” but control is uneven and errors sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “Although the year before refurbishment it was 74000” is an incomplete clause; write “The figure was 74,000 before refurbishment, compared with 92,000 afterwards.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “30% of visitor was satisfied” and “Finally, the last option no response remain unchanged.” Capitalisation after commas and full stops is inconsistent, and several commas interrupt the sentence structure. Practise complete comparative sentences and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation before submitting.
