Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main overall changes accurately: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, positive ratings increased, and dissatisfaction declined, while non-responses stayed at 5%. The figures for the satisfaction categories are generally well selected and correctly reported. However, the account is compressed and does not clearly report the separate “satisfied” figures of 30% and 40%; the overview also describes the refurbishment as “highly successful,” which is an interpretation rather than a neutral summary of the data. The final comparison is incomplete (“from 50 percent majority to just. 20 percent”), making an important feature unclear. The response is five words below the required minimum. Add a little detail and complete the comparison to cover the information more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable overall progression: it introduces the visuals, gives an overview, then reports attendance and satisfaction changes. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Conversely,” and “Meanwhile” help signal relationships between points. This gives the account a coherent basic structure. However, nearly all the information is packed into one paragraph, and several transitions run directly into the next sentence (“satisfaction.According” and “perception.Positive”), which interrupts the flow. The final sentence about non-responses feels appended rather than integrated into a clearly organised comparison. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and key details, and make the links between positive and negative ratings more explicit to create smoother progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 7.0
You use a reasonably varied range of vocabulary for describing change, including “substantial increase,” “surged,” “plummeted,” and “remained entirely unchanged.” These choices help convey the direction and scale of the trends, and the meaning is generally clear. Some phrasing is less natural or precise: “visitors numbers” is an awkward form, “public perception” is broader than survey satisfaction, and “a ‘very satisfied’ visitors” is not an appropriate construction. “Massive” and “dramatic” also make the description sound more emphatic than a neutral data report requires. Aim for precise, conventional chart language and check collocations and word forms; this would make the vocabulary more consistently controlled and appropriately academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
There is some variety in sentence structure, including a complex opening with “resulting in” and a contrast introduced by “Conversely.” Several clauses communicate the main trends clearly. However, grammatical and punctuation errors recur and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “before and after it's refurbishment” (possessive form), “a ‘very satisfied’ visitors” (article and noun construction), and the incomplete comparison “from 50 percent majority to just. 20 percent.” Missing spaces after full stops and commas also disrupt sentence boundaries. Review articles, possessives, plural forms, and punctuation, and ensure each comparison forms a complete sentence. More accurate control of these patterns would make the varied structures easier to read.
