Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main overall changes: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, satisfaction improved, and dissatisfaction declined. Several survey figures are also reported accurately, including unchanged non-response at 5% and dissatisfaction falling from 40% to 15%. However, the account is only partly complete: it omits the 15% who were very satisfied before refurbishment and gives the after-refurbishment figure as “20%” rather than 35%. The claim that satisfaction rose “around 10%” is also imprecise: the satisfied category increased from 30% to 40%, while very satisfied rose by 20 percentage points. A clearer, more accurate summary of the key categories would make the response more fully address the visual information.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic structure, with an opening, an overview, and paragraphs describing survey results. The overview usefully signals the broad movement towards greater satisfaction, and phrases such as “On the other hand” attempt to connect contrasting information. However, progression is not consistently clear: visitor totals, satisfaction categories, and dissatisfaction figures are mixed without a systematic order. Some links are awkward or misleading, such as “Although” before the unchanged no-response figure and “Nevertheless” before the very-satisfied result. Group the figures by positive and negative responses, and use straightforward comparisons to guide the reader through each category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “satisfied,” “dissatisfied,” “proportion,” and “percentage.” However, the range and control are limited, with repeated use of “renovation” and “visitors” and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions. “Pie chat” misidentifies the visual, while “immensely difference” and “fall it's proportion” make parts of the comparison difficult to understand. Spelling and word formation also need attention, as in “verydissatisfied” and “amount of tourists.” Choose precise chart language and natural collocations; for example, describe the figures as percentages of respondents and say that a category’s share “fell” or “increased.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some complex sentences, including “Although, visitors have no response…” and “On the other hand…,” but these structures are often faulty. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur in “The numbers of visitors are increase” and “the rate … had fall.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, and several clauses lack clear grammatical connections, as in “before refurbishment it is percentage is 40%.” Articles and sentence construction need more reliable control. Practise writing short, complete comparison sentences first, then combine them with accurate contrast clauses. This would reduce the frequent errors that sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow.
