Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main overall changes: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while satisfaction improved, with the satisfied and very satisfied shares increasing and dissatisfaction falling. The key figures you report are accurate, and you make relevant comparisons across both periods. This is a strong response to the task. However, the overview says satisfaction “faced negative feedback,” which conflicts with the figures and your later account of improvement; it should state the overall positive shift clearly. You also omit the unchanged 5% who gave no response, and the visitor-number comparison is less developed than the survey discussion. A more precise overview and a brief mention of this stable category would make the coverage more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response is organised into a clear introduction, overview and two detail paragraphs, moving logically from visitor totals to satisfaction results. Linking expressions such as “similarly” and “conversely” help signal comparisons, and the reader can follow the main trends. Some connections are less effective: “meanwhile” introduces an overview statement that contradicts the positive satisfaction figures, while “in addition to” is awkwardly used to connect the visitor totals. The final satisfaction details are also compressed into a sentence beginning “while,” which leaves the relationship slightly incomplete. Use transitions that accurately express contrast or similarity, and make each sentence grammatically complete to strengthen the otherwise clear progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “proportion,” “doubled,” “largest group” and “dropped sharply.” These choices allow you to describe the main comparisons, and most meaning remains clear. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise: “public satisfaction level faced negative feedback” does not naturally describe the survey results, and “individual numbers” is unclear for visitor totals. Spelling errors such as “tewelve,” “substancial,” “indivisulas” and “categry” also reduce accuracy. Aim for standard chart-reporting phrases such as “visitor numbers,” “satisfaction levels increased,” and “the very dissatisfied share fell,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex structures, including comparisons with “from … to …” and a contrast introduced by “conversely.” The main figures and trends are generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, however. The opening needs subject–verb agreement (“The table and pie chart present”), and “it is evidence that museum has witnessed” has problems with article use and sentence construction. In “in addition to, their was a sharp increase,” the linking phrase and “there” are incorrectly formed; “which rose” also has an unclear reference. The final “while” clause is not a complete sentence. Review agreement, articles, pronouns and clause boundaries, and punctuate sentence openings consistently.
