Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the main changes: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while satisfaction improved after refurbishment. You also report several key percentages accurately, including 40% dissatisfied before and 40% satisfied after. However, some comparisons are unclear or incomplete. For example, “visitors satisfied more around 40 percent after refurbishment” does not distinguish the 40% satisfied from the 35% very satisfied, and the statement about “no response and very dissatisfied” combines categories without clearly comparing each period. State the main shifts explicitly: dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, while very satisfied responses rose from 15% to 35%. This would make the selected features more fully developed and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for visitor numbers and survey results. This helps the reader follow the two sources of information. You also use basic linking expressions such as “Overall,” “while,” and “Therefore.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly the repeated use of “Therefore” and “Whereas” to join ideas that are not always complete comparisons. The final sentence also groups “no response” and “very dissatisfied” together, making the relationship between the figures difficult to follow. Use clearer transitions and organise the survey paragraph around the main contrast—improved satisfaction versus reduced dissatisfaction—with each category and period stated distinctly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the topic, with relevant terms such as “refurbishment,” “visitors,” “surveys,” and “percent.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which makes some statements awkward: “This table calculate,” “visitors came to Museum,” and “satisfied more” do not express the intended meaning naturally. There are also spelling errors, including “dissatisified” and “satisifed,” and “ratio” is not the best term for these percentages. Aim for precise chart language such as “the number of visitors increased,” “respondents were satisfied,” and “the proportion of visitors.” More accurate phrasing would make your comparisons easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including comparisons with “while” and “whereas,” and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors in sentence structure, verb forms, articles, and punctuation are frequent enough to limit accuracy. For example, “This table calculate” needs subject–verb agreement, while “the result of surveys which taken by visitors” is missing a verb form. In “visitors came to Museum,” the article is missing, and several sentences place commas incorrectly after introductory phrases, such as “Result of surveys explain that,”. Practise building complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and articles. More controlled sentence patterns would help you express the comparisons accurately.
