Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the broad contrast that visitor satisfaction improved after refurbishment, and you mention the unchanged 5% giving no response. However, the report does not accurately or clearly present the main figures: it says dissatisfaction fell to 15% but does not state the before figure of 40%, and the satisfaction figures are described vaguely rather than reported as 30% and 40%. The visitor totals of 74,000 and 92,000 are omitted, as is a clear overview of the overall changes. Some wording also confuses categories, such as “very satisfied value results of surveys is satisfied.” The response is 130 words, below the required 150. To improve, give a concise overview and select accurate comparisons from both the table and charts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening statement is followed by details introduced with “In detail” and “Furthermore.” This gives the reader some indication that you are moving from a general comment to specific information. However, the ideas are not arranged into clear, complete units, and the long middle sentence combines several categories without explaining their relationships. The final sentence ends abruptly, while repeated references to “before refurbishment” and “after refurbishment” do not make the comparisons easy to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and key details, and group the satisfaction categories logically—for example, compare positive responses together, then negative responses and no response.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt some task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “Dissatisfied,” “satisfied,” and “no response,” so the topic is recognisable. However, spelling and word-choice problems frequently make the message difficult to interpret: “depicated,” “dealineates,” “Ashdow Musem,” and “surverys” are examples. Several expressions are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “sum all number of visitors,” “very up level,” and “satisfied demand.” These errors limit the clarity and range of your vocabulary. Prefer standard chart language such as “the total number of visitors,” “the proportion of dissatisfied visitors,” and “rose/fell.” Check spelling carefully, and use “percentage” rather than “personcentage” when reporting survey results.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You make an effort to form longer sentences and use linking phrases, including “as we scrutinize the given graph” and “Furthermore it can be seen.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or difficult to follow, and grammatical relationships between ideas are unclear. For example, “before refurbishment year Dissatisfied value is very up level” lacks a clear subject and natural sentence structure, while “no response in 5% is before refurbishment” uses an awkward construction. There are also problems with articles, word order, and punctuation, including the run-on opening sentence. Aim first for accurate simple comparisons, such as “Dissatisfaction was 40% before refurbishment and 15% afterwards,” then add more complex structures once these are controlled.
