Student answer (Band 4.0)

The table below illustrate that how many visitors came to ashdown museum during the year before and the next year when it was refurbished. The graphs illustrate the conclusion or surveys asking visitors how delighted they were with their visit, during the two same periods.

This heading shows that there were two groups of people visit the ashdown hall in a different time period and and what's their toughts about the museum and what question's in their mind related to museum.

In the first graph shows 40% of people dissatified about their tour in meusium. On the one hand 30% of satisfied and 15% of people very satisfied about the museum. On the other hand 10% of people very dissatisfied and 5%of never respone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify the topic and report several figures from the year before refurbishment accurately, including 40% dissatisfied, 30% satisfied and 15% very satisfied. However, the response does not provide an overview of the main changes, omits the visitor totals, and stops before describing the second survey results. The phrase about “two groups of people” also misrepresents the comparison, which is between two periods. The response is largely incomplete for the task and contains only 119 words, below the required 150; the nine words copied from the prompt are excluded from that count. To improve, summarise the overall rise in visitors and the shift towards greater satisfaction, then compare the key percentages in both years.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is some basic organisation: the response begins with an introduction and then attempts to describe the first survey, using phrases such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” to distinguish categories. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the second paragraph introduces unclear ideas about “what question’s in their mind,” rather than presenting chart information. The final paragraph ends abruptly at “In the other graph,” leaving the comparison unfinished. Some linking expressions are used, but they do not create a clear sequence of the main features. Use a simple structure—introduction, overview, and paragraphs comparing the two periods—and connect related figures directly.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “visitors,” “survey,” “satisfied” and “dissatisfied,” so the reader can recognise the subject. However, word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or imprecise: “delighted” does not accurately represent the satisfaction categories, “conclusion” is unsuitable for survey results, and forms such as “dissatified,” “meusium” and “respone” reduce clarity. “Ashdown hall” also changes the name given in the task. The repeated use of “people” and “museum” limits variety, while “what question’s in their mind” is not an appropriate description of the data. Practise accurate chart vocabulary and check spelling before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer constructions, but control is inconsistent. For example, “The table below illustrate that how many visitors came” has subject–verb disagreement and an incorrect clause structure; “In the first graph shows” is also incomplete because it lacks a grammatical subject. The opening sentence contains repeated “and,” and the phrase “two same periods” shows difficulty forming a natural comparison. These errors make several sentences awkward or unclear, although some short statements such as “In the first graph shows 40%...” still communicate the intended figure. Build accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses carefully, checking agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
