Student answer (Band 5.5)
The illustration gives information about the total numbers of visitors to Ashdown Museum and also results of surveys of visitor satisfaction. Overall, the total numbers of visitors surged after the redevelopment and with this satisfaction level of the visitors also rose respectively. Although, visitors whos give no responce at all remain stable before and after refurbishment.
It is quite evident from the table which shows that a significant increase in the numbers of visitors after redevelopment of the museum, its numbers rise from 74,000 to 92,000.
Meanwhile the results of surveys were amazing and its showed that satisfied level enhanced significantly after new look. In the year before refurbishment 40% of them were dissatisfied and 30% of them were satisfied with this structure and 10% of them were very satisfied. In contrast, after redevelopment show a completely different result in which satisfaction level rose to 40% and dissatisfied visitors drcreased 25% and remain 15%. The visitors which give no responce remained same before and after refurbishment. However, the visitors whos are very satisfied to the new look significantly rose and became 35. In contrast, very dissatisfied remained equal to visitors whos give no responce.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both the visitor total and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the main changes: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while satisfaction improved overall and non-response stayed at 5%. Most figures are reported accurately, including the before-refurbishment proportions and the after-refurbishment figures of 40% satisfied and 15% dissatisfied. The phrase “dissatisfied visitors decreased 25%” is unclear: the share fell by 25 percentage points, from 40% to 15%, rather than falling to 25%. You also note that very dissatisfied responses remained equal to non-responses, but do not give their value. This is a relevant and reasonably complete account; clearer precision and fuller development of the comparisons would strengthen it further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview, followed by discussion of attendance and then survey results. This helps the reader follow the main information. However, progression within the survey paragraph is less controlled: it moves between satisfied, dissatisfied, no response and very satisfied, and the repeated “In contrast” and “However” do not always mark a clear contrast. Some references are also difficult to follow, such as “its showed” and “this structure.” Grouping the positive responses together and then the negative and unchanged categories would create a clearer sequence. Use linking expressions only where the relationship between the figures genuinely calls for them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” “satisfaction level” and “significant increase.” These choices make the topic clear, and you attempt more formal reporting language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “satisfaction level ... rose respectively,” “the results ... were amazing,” and “satisfied level enhanced.” Spelling errors in “responce” and “drcreased,” along with “whos,” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim for neutral, accurate language suited to describing data rather than evaluative terms such as “amazing.” More consistent use of terms such as “proportion,” “share” and “percentage points” would also help you report comparisons precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a relative clause beginning “which shows.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to interpret. For example, “Although, visitors whos give no responce at all remain stable” is not a complete, correctly formed clause, while “In contrast, after redevelopment show a completely different result” lacks a clear subject. There are also problems with verb forms and agreement in “its showed” and “visitors which give.” Work on complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and consistent past-tense reporting. Shorter, accurate sentences would be preferable to complex sentences that obscure the data.
